LeNORD Train
This locomotive was built in 1883. It is one of the oldest locomotives in Europe, highly performing for its time, with 275 hp and a maximum speed of 60 Km/h. These locomotives were equipped with a hand brake and with an open driver’s cab. They were sold or demolished between 1932 and 1974. The last of this group was restored and is one of LeNORD’s historical trains.

Eleven of these units were ordered and produced in three different batches in view of meeting the growing demand for passenger and freight train configurations. In 1997, one of these units was restored and has been included among the historical locomotives belonging to LeNORD.

After an external renovation, in 1985 one of these locomotives was located inside the Novate Milanese yard where it is still exhibited.

The production of the locomotives of this series started in 1928. Over the years, LeNord ordered twenty-four of these units, of which twenty-three are still operational. Instead one unit was used as a historical train to celebrate the electrification of the Ferrovie Nord Milano network, which took place in 1929, and the125th anniversary of the Company.
