TSR
LeNORD Train
TSR is the new innovative train for regional transportation in Lombardy. It has been designed by Pininfarina and built in joint venture by AnsaldoBreda – Firema – Keller.

It is a double-decked train with a variable composition (from 3 to 9 rail cars) and it can be adjusted to the changing passenger traffic flows. The rail cars are large with areas for disabled passengers and spaces for bicycles. The access platforms of the train are positioned at curb height for elderly people, disabled people and children.
Tsr is a high-performance train with acceleration similar to that of the underground. Moreover, it is equipped with different safety devices: a fire protection system with smoke detectors, video-surveillance and the last generation Train Drive Control System (SCMT).

EB 760 / EA 761 TAF
LeNORD Train
At the end of the 90’s, High Capacity Trains (TAF) were introduced in order to meet the increasing need for passengers’ comfort. Moreover, in view of the continuous and exponential growth in the demand for railway transportation, these additional 27 units upgraded LeNord’s rolling stock in a safe and durable manner.

When the Malpensa airport connection was launched, five of these trains were destined to this branch with a dedicated graphic design. So was born the Malpensa Express.

EA 750
LeNORD Train
Almost 30 years have elapsed since the introduction of the first EB 700, EB 730, EB 740 and LeNORD’s rolling stock needed to be seriously upgraded.
Another 10 years went by because of uncertainties about new draft projects and insufficient resources before the new EA 750 electric motorcars were formally ordered.
For the first time, LeNORD introduced double-decked rail cars with a maximum speed of 130km/h.

EB 740
LeNORD Train
These electric motorcars were built between 1928 and 1957 and they have been continuously improved from the technical point of view.

EB 730
LeNORD Train
With the gradual electrification of the Ferrovie Nord network, the EB 700 electric motorcars soon became insufficient in terms of motive power, especially along the Saronno-Como branch.
In fact, more powerful motorcars were purchased to run on the steep gradient of the Grandate-Como Borghi branch.
These new 730 were obtained by transforming obsolete ones and control trailers.

EB 700
LeNORD Train
By the end of the 20’s, a project was launched to uniformly electrify the railway network in order to meet the needs of an increasing number of passengers at peak times.
The EB 700 electric motorcars were the first to be designed to respond to the new requirements of Ferrovie Nord.
