LeNORD serves two
areas in the Lombardy Region: |
Suburban service On December 12th 2004, the new Porta Vittoria station was opened on the Milan Passante, thus launching the project of the new suburban railway lines (S lines) of the Lombardy Region. The S lines provide a new type of metropolitan railway service that connects the Milan suburban area to the city center with frequent trains operating 365 days per year, 7 days a week. On these lines, the trains travel every 30 minutes from early in the morning to late at night (from 6:00 to 0:30) and stop at all the stations along the lines always according to the same times (fixed schedule).

Regional service
The regional service provided by LeNORD links Milan to the main towns of Brianza (Canzo - Asso) and the provinces of Como, Novara, Varese and the new province of Monza Brianza. Like suburban trains, the regional trains travel according to a predetermined schedule: all the trains leave at the same time every hour. For example, the trains from Milano Cadorna to Novara always leave at 15 minutes and 45 minutes every hour, the trains for Asso at 10 minutes and 50 minutes.

The Brescia-Iseo-Edolo line runs through the Val Camonica area all along the eastern shore of the Iseo lake, for a total length of 108.3 Km.
On this line, LeNORD provides 42 daily train services with more than 1 million passengers per year. FERROVIENORD has operated this line since 1993 and thanks to the improvements made over the years, the Brescia-Iseo-Edolo branch is a safe and fast line.
