Characteristics train  LeNORD ea750

Train LeNORD ea750 Ferrovie Nord Milano ordered the first batch of twelve EA 750 electric motorcars between the late 60’s and the late 70’s and the first ones became operational in 1982. This model is powered by a chopper system and is particularly adequate for local transportation. It is very powerful and has a maximum speed of 130 km/h (vs 90 km/h of the 740 model). All the electrical devices are located between the driver’s cab and the first passengers’ hall, and for the first time double decked trains with 360 seats have been introduced on the LeNord network.
The first trains based on this model became operational between November and December 1982. A second batch of six electric motorcars (single decked cars with a capacity of 340 seats and telephone lines since 1991) became operational in 1984. In 1993, a third batch was introduced with another six cars, thus making it possible to have first-class seats on all the train units. Passengers’ comfort has been improved with more seating capacity obtained by lengthening the seats from 160 to170 cm. All the twenty-four units of this model are still operational.
