In order to set up the trains transporting 150 thousand passengers every day, LeNORD has 287 rail cars of different sizes and life cycles, and 154 motive power units such as electric locomotives, electro motives and electric trains for a total of 436 rolling stock units.

The Lombardy Region has invested over 680 million on rolling stock. As a result, the LeNORD fleet will be fully renewed thanks to new trains due to arrive by Spring 2009.
In July 2007, the first Tsr has become operational. These trains have been designed for regional transportation of a high number of passengers like the S lines.

Tsr are highly flexible double decked trains that can be used to form sets of various lengths and configurations and will be able to best meet the suburban railway transportation requirements. On the whole, the LeNORD fleet will be supplemented by 78 new trains for a total of 336 rail cars as of 2009. In fact, by then, two-thirds of this fleet will consist of trains built after the year 2000, thus significantly improving the overall quality of the service provided to commuters in Lombardy.
